Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, operated by MITSUI FUDOSAN Co., Ltd, has been hosting the “HIBIYA CINEMA FESTIVAL” since 2018—an event where the entire neighborhood of Hibiya, known as the “City of Movies,” comes together to enjoy films. In 2026, marking its 9th edition, the festival will run from Friday, October 9, to Sunday, October 25, offering a variety of cinematic experiences across three public spaces: Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, Hibiya Park, and Hibiya OKUROJI.
The theme for 2026 is “Immersive” Cinema. To allow attendees to enjoy films that match their desired mood—whether they want to “be immersed in tears” or “be immersed in a romantic mood”—we will feature daily “○○ Movie Day” events centered on emotions such as “joy,” “tears,” and “romance.” We propose a new way to enjoy films by selecting films based on emotions and sharing your impressions. Additionally, photo spots where you can immerse yourself in the world of film will be available.
Admission is free at all venues, and visitors are free to come and go as they please.
Following this event, starting Monday, October 26, Hibiya Step Plaza will serve as a venue for the “39th Tokyo International Film Festival,” showcasing the appeal of Hibiya's film culture for approximately one month.
